What happened last Black Friday

Retailers spread their 2025 fashion sales across most of November rather than saving everything for one day:

• Macy's ran a "Parade of Deals" from November 2, a Black Friday Early Access event November 10–13, "Black Friday Starts Now" November 14–22, and Black Friday Week from November 23. Stores were closed on Thanksgiving and opened at 6 a.m. on Black Friday. Advertised offers included up to 60% off women's winter coats and 50–60% off men's coats.
• Kohl's held Black Friday Early Access November 7–9 and Black Friday Week November 23–29, with 15% off qualifying purchases, up to 50% off categories such as pajamas and boots, and $15 in Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent on key days.
• Old Navy ran 50%–60% off storewide from November 24 to 30, per Blacker Friday, plus $16 adult jeans for two days and app-only dollar-off offers.
• Gap advertised 50% off sitewide plus 60% off a set of "really big deals," according to TODAY.
• Nordstrom started early with up to 60% off across fashion, beauty and home, running through Black Friday (Yahoo/AOL Shopping).
• H&M opened its US Black Friday sale on November 24 with 20% off for members through Cyber Monday (Who What Wear).
• ASOS advertised up to 70% off select items (Blacker Friday).

Department stores: Macy's, Kohl's and Nordstrom

Macy's has typically used a ladder of events, so the first early-access window matters more than Black Friday itself for coats and cashmere. Value chains: Old Navy and Gap

Old Navy and Gap are both Gap Inc. brands and have typically hit 50% off or more on Black Friday, with daily or two-day doorbusters layered on top. Watch for exclusions: last year Old Navy's storewide deal did not apply to items already marked as daily deals.
