Across all retail, Cyber Monday is now the bigger online day. Adobe Analytics reported $11.8 billion in US online spending on Black Friday 2025 and a record $14.25 billion on Cyber Monday. For pet owners, this means you don't need to rush on Friday, because many pet offers ran into Cyber Week last year.
What happened last Black Friday
Here is what the main pet retailers offered in 2025, based on published deal reports:
- Chewy: On November 28, 2025, Chewy ran one-day buy-one-get-one-free treats and a $40 eGift card when you spent $100 on select Purina products. Codes for 30% and 20% off select purchases ran into early December. Other offers included 40% off pet beds and furniture, an extra 35% off a first Autoship delivery, and up to 50% off toys, treats and beds.
- Petco: Petco started its Black Friday sale on November 22, 2025 and ran it through November 29, with up to 50% off thousands of items. A code gave 20% off sitewide. It also offered buy one get one 50% off select dog and cat treats. Many advertised prices required the free Pals Rewards membership.
- BarkBox: BarkBox offered new subscribers their first box for $5 shipped, plus a free chew in every box for a year, on 6- and 12-month plans. The offer ran through Cyber Monday, December 1, 2025.
- PetMeds: We could not find a reliable record of PetMeds' 2025 Black Friday terms. The store has typically used sitewide percentage codes and first-order AutoShip discounts, so expect something similar.
Store-by-store: what to expect in 2026
Chewy
Chewy is the easiest place to stock up on food, litter and supplies. Last year it combined percentage-off codes, BOGO treat deals and gift cards for spending over a set amount. There are currently 25 codes listed on the Chewy store page, including 30% off select items, $20 off a $49+ order for members, and free eGift cards on qualifying orders. Chewy's gift card offers often exclude prescription items and some major food brands, so check the terms before you build your cart.
Petco and Petco Vital Care
Petco's sale started almost a week before Black Friday last year, so the biggest discounts on beds, cat furniture and aquarium gear may show up early again. There are 7 offers listed for Petco, including 20% off storewide and deals of up to 50% off. Petco Vital Care is Petco's paid membership, and it has 20 listed codes. PetMeds
PetMeds is the one to watch for flea, tick and heartworm prevention and other health products. It currently has 24 listed codes, including 20% off storewide, $40 off, and up to 35% off orders set up on AutoShip. Prescription medications always need your veterinarian's authorization, and PetMeds contacts your vet for approval before shipping. BarkBox
BarkBox's best offers are usually for new subscribers. Last year's $5 first box only applied if you signed up for 6 or 12 months, so work out the total cost of the plan, not just the first box. BarkBox has 23 listed codes on SaverCodes, including 30% off almost everything and 30% off food.

Tips for saving on pet supplies this Black Friday
- Stock up on shelf-stable items. Dry food, litter, treats and toys are good buys. Check expiration dates on food and treats before buying in bulk.
- Stack a first-Autoship discount with sale prices where the terms allow. Last year Chewy offered an extra 35% off the first Autoship delivery. You can usually cancel or change the schedule later.
- Look at gift card offers. If you were going to spend $100 anyway, a $40 eGift card is $40 of credit for future orders. Just don't add things you don't need to reach the minimum.
- Don't switch medications to save money. Only change a pet's medication, dose or brand if your veterinarian approves. Ask your vet if a generic or a different pack size would work, then compare prices.
- Order prescriptions early. Vet approval can take longer during the holidays, so place refill orders a week or two before you run out.
- Join the free loyalty programs first. Petco showed member prices to Pals Rewards members last year, and some Chewy codes are listed as members-only.
